I have been wanting to do something with my photo slides from my photography degree for a long time and I finally sat down and designed this lamp in tinkercad. It takes 24 slides to fill the lamp I had 2 types of holders for them and both type (plastic and cardboard fitted perfectly in the slots.
I printed it at 0.35 mm took about 14 hours for the base and 5 hours for the cover at 15% infill. I didn't use support for the base and for the cover I printed it upside down to not have to use any on it either.
The filament is a rainbow silk pla I got from Amazon.ca it was a weird no name chinese brand but it worked out so well. I made a version with a square hole for a little led light I had bought at the dollarama. I wound up making a clap on/off lamp with a circuit python board from Adafruit that I need to refine. I couldn't be more excited to have modeled this thing from scratch considering how much I hated modeling in my animation degree maybe the problem was just Maya haha :) Enjoy!
