The only feature missing in this stand design is a possibility of an additional rewind when the track reaches its lowest position. It is not necessary during a normal print but it’s useful during rewinding a filament back to the spool before you change it. In cooperation with the author of this stand design we prepared a modified track part which provides this functionality.
This modified track part is equipped with a spring on its bottom end and a longer neck on its top. The spring holds the track in the working position with its teeth engaged but also allows its further movement where its toothless area stands against the gear and allows its free rotation. You will need a suitable spring. I’ve found the right one in an old ballpoint pen. The spring dimensions are 4.6 x 30 mm. No other changes to the stand design are necessary. Just use this modified track part.
