just a question, where would you activate the motor from on the rocket, and would you use a lighter or something else to ignite the motor? I have never worked with these motors before and would like to know what i am doing so it does not set me or anything else on fire.

When you buy small hobby motors, they generally come with igniters - they're essentially two wires connected at the end by some combustible compound which ignites when electricity is passed through. You stick an igniter in the nozzle end of the motor and push in a plug to hold it in place, then connect your leads and (once you're at a safe distance) close the circuit and the igniter should light, lighting the fuel in the motor. No problem :) Just be safe and do it out in a really open field, because this'll go quite high
