THIS IS FOR THE 5U T710 ONLY! The 4U and smaller R710s use different heatsinks, and these will NOT fit, so if you don't have the 5U T710, move on, there's nothing to see here. These aren't the fan clips you're looking for.
These will need to be set up differently than the T410 clips I published earlier (found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3731607).
- The front CPU (the one closest to the drive bays) needs to be set up so the fan is pulling air through the heatsink (the fan will physically be towards the rear of the case side of the heatsink).
- The rear CPU (the one closest to the IDRAC ethernet port) needs to be set up so the fan is pushing air through the heatsink (the fan will be towards the front of the case side of the heatsink).
If you install them correctly, you will still be able to put the shroud/tunnel/cover over the CPUs and the RAM.
Like the T410 clips, you'll need to use zip ties to hold the legs to the other side of the heatsinks from the fans... Do take care not to over-tighten the zip ties; you don't want to bend the fins on the heatsinks.
Power for the 60x60x25mm fans can be drawn from the CD/DVD-ROM power connectors.
The "legs" will snap into the "clip" without the need for a fastener, but you may use some glue if you wish.
PETG seems to be the best material to print this with, IMHO, though ABS may work. PLA is Right Out!
You'll need four legs and one clip per CPU.
