I just modified Jon Lawrence great design to be able to print it on my stock simple. Just wanted to share if any one else needed it also. A tension block is needed from his thing files. I also recommend his belt wedges(http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:275874).
Design requires an additional four M3 nuts and four 20mm or longer screws to hold the parts together.

just figured out how to reset the values of the build plate in repetier if any is interested:

M501 - to read values

m211 X### Y## - set new values

M500 - save values

reread with m501 to make sure your values are set now!

Do you know what additional parts I need aside from the belt tensioners, I am using your upgrade and want to do it right!

This is only my 4th print. How did you make this fit on stock 1405? I have been playing around with it for a few minutes andcan't quite get it to fit.

To be honest this shouldn't be your fourth print. Especially if it doesn't fit your plate on a diagonal. Be certain that your printer is printing to scale before printing parts like this.

A little off topic for this print. But what did you use for feet on your printer?

They are just something i threw together in tinkercad.

What measurement do i put in for my X axis now??

There isn't a one size fits all answer to your question. It depends on your bed size and or rod length. That being said:
Zero your x-axis and mark under the extruder. Then move your x-axis to max and mark. Measure that distance in mm. Should be your new travel. That is if your motor steps are correct, if your measurement is precise, the list goes on. Best of luck.

Will this allow me to use more of the X travel of the stock bed?

Yes, but only with longer rods and a new belt.

I've uploaded some bed spacers for those of you having z coupler collision issues with the bed being too low: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:651397

There are a lot of jumble spot on both parts. can slice them right.

Will this fit with the stock GT2 belt?

Yes. quillford. But it's extremely close. Literally, 1 tooth to spare for me using the stock build plate.

Thanks for putting this online! I'll be trying to print it on my 1405 simple tonight!

Thanks for putting this together. I made my version fit, but had to trim the edges and bring the curvy gusset down a bit. If people don't like the trimmed down version, this is a good alternative.
