Welcome to BREACH, A tactical tabletop game in which starships battle in an endless conflict to determine the fate of the Multiverse....

Included within this game are all the components for two players to go head to head as either the trans-universal Police force Dominion, or the rebellious Separatists.

This game is a work-in-progress, so expect some major things to change (especially where the rules are concerned).

Also, we have a ton of additional ships in the works which we'll be posting before long here. In the meantime, print, play, and shoot me a message if you have any questions.

Models designed in TinkerCAD.

All of these models were printed in PLA at an extruder temp of 210, layer height of .10 and 100% infill.

The ratio of pieces you'll need is detailed in the beginning of the Operations Manual, though you'll also need at least one of each of the space/asteroid field tiles (though more will just make for a bigger game). Oh, and each player will need 3 ten-sided dice. Drop me a line if you have any questions!

Hi I am about half way through printing the Beta release of Breach, only to find you have a revised edition, should I stop and change to this version or finish what I started? Are the expansions compatible with Breach Beta and have the rules entirely changed? Not sure what to do for the best as I have been printing parts for a week or so now. Help!

Awesome! Any plans to expand to more players?

Absolutely! I'm also going to overhaul the entire system, do some serious streamlining.

Please make more ships! I can't wait to play this game!

Please make more ships! I can't wait to play this game!

Will do! Working on a revision, something a little easier to print/play and involve more ships.

Will it still use pieces from the old game? Because I just printed everything i needed.

Yeah, no worries there! We might do away with the crew dynamic, but can;t say for sure. Other than that, you should have a use for everything.

Great! And where can I find the stats for the Preview 2 ships?

Also, do you think you could consider making me an official play tester for Ill Gotten Games? I know you've hardly met me, but I do have quite a bit of time on my hands.

Hey, lots of time helps, for sure. Drop us an email and let's talk about making you an official play tester. We could definitely use some more! [email protected]

A (very) small nit - in the two ship PDF files, the last section should be spelled 'Personnel' - two 'n's. Beautiful work - solids and files

Hah, thanks! Yeah, my editor pointed that out to me last night. I wouldn't normally make that mistake more than once, but one file was copied and altered from the other and the spellcheck doesn't alert me in that font. I'll fix that momentarily....

Great stuff, once the printer is working 100% I'm going to print this out, can you zip all the files into one big file PLZ.

Hey, thanks. Yeah, all set. Should be at the bottom of the downloads. Enjoy!

As always, awesome models!

Thanks, dude! This was a lot of fun to design.

Yay!   I can't wait to print more of these!!!  (Especially new ships!)

Oh, they're on their way... already have about five others printed. Just need to work out the rules/play test and get them posted.

Very cool! It's fun seeing this explosion of new game designs enabled by 3D printing.

Totally! As a game designer, this 3D printer of mine has changed everything.

Any thoughts about 2d laser cut-able
ships or board too? I think it would go a long way toward convincing
my group to play if a whole armada could be made in ~20 minutes
instead of an hour per ship. I'm really excited for print n play
wargames and I think it would help it get established at the local
store if I could gift bag away armies.

As always excellent models and nice

Man, I would LOVE to make these in 2D, but I don't have access to a laser cutter. That being said, I bet I could format them as such. If you know anything about how to do that, drop me a line. This game could totally be played with entirely 2D pieces. I'd like to work on that.

I have access to a Fab Lab with a laser cutter, and there's certainly potential to do all of this with lasers. Transparent acrylic would make for great flight stands for the ships, everything else can be done as single layer pieces with designs etched into them. Making the ship out of two or three layers stacked (and pinned together by the flight stand) would make them stand out a bit more too.

When laser cutting, adding surface graphics (rastering) is much slower than cutting out solid shapes (vector cutting) so if you want a game that's speedy to make think about making lots of the parts obviously different by outline alone, which means the rastered graphics are optional decoration rather than essential for gameplay. Some of the tokens could be solid discs with an arrow or rocket outline cut out of them, for example.

I'll happily continue if you're still interested :)

Oh, totally! I think the whole thing would be just fine as solid cuts without rastering. I'm all for making a laser cut version of this and I'm working on that with a couple of other people at the moment. You should shoot me an email if you're interested in joining in.

It would not be very hard to export dxf file from stl file, using the projection() function of openscad. You juste have to adjust the Z position, in order to cut at the right layer, to get all the design.
