Hello Friso,
Had a look on Ali Express for the motors found some.
When I have time I will make the 0-6-0 GWR (a locomotive from my old country...England)

Hello Masarium,
Excellent model, would you (when you get some spare time) please put the motor drive information up.
Looking to add this model to our club show case. http://csmee.org.nz/
Regards Dave M.

Hello Dave,

Thanks for the kind comment. Those are some superb models on your clubs page! I'm working on a set of instructions including a parts list for making this model locomotive fully controllable with an arduino. The drivetrain I used in my prototype is a standard: DC 3V - 12V Dual Axis Gear Motor 2 Axis TT Motor Reducer (See attached image) It fits exactly between the inside frames of the loco. You can connect the wheels to the gearbox by cutting the axles on to the right size and glueing the wheels directly on them, or either cut the excess white parts of the gearbox and use the hole that goes through it to fix a custom metal rod in place and connect the wheels to that instead.

This setup works fine for a prototype, however I'm working on a cutsom universal 3d printable gearbox for in all of my 3d printable locomotives. If you finish a model of this locomotive please do send me some images. I'd love to see it!

Kind regards,
Friso - Musarium

This looks good but I'm having some trouble downloading and opening the files. Any chance you could publish the STL files?

Definately! Check back in a few hours and the. STL files should be there. Together with some new images. Thank you for the heads up about the files

No problem!
I run a blog that often features modelling. I'm always looking for new projects to show and this ticks all the boxes....providing my 3d printer can handle it!

If all is right, it should slice fine now! If this build makes it into your blog please do send me a link! I'd love to see it.

Yes it works!
unfortunately it's to big for my printer. If you ever enable the "order Prints" feature I may be able to get a hold of them that way. I would defiently let you see the build if and when it happens :)
Great looking model!
