Here is my take on Markz/'SomeOldGuy Coding' laser mount for the LowRider2 CNC from V1 Engineering.
I liked the idea of mounting off the 'front' of the 611 plate near the vacuum attachment point.
I have a few 'extras' that I want to mount up on my LowRider2, such as pens/sharpies, a laser, and a vinyl drag knife at this stage.
This is a work in progress, I am still working to test the prototype.
The main mount body is now version 1, I havent tested machine fit yet.
The laser hole pattern is to suit a generic eBay 5.5w laser.
The Drag knife mount is for a roland/ liyu style drag knife with 11.5mm diameter body.
Pen mount still coming.
I am going to use an M3 bolt for the latch on the top of the mount at this stage.
Printed Mount V1, dovetail join between front tool holders and mount is great!!
Hopefully get to check the mount fitment to the 611 plate over the weekend.
UPDATE 30/08/2019 PM
Tried to test fit Mount v1, forgot to allow for V1Eng vacuum duct piece.
Will re-design and test.
Tested latch, works well. All bolt patterns/ alignment look good except height that was missed. (12.4mm out, doh)
NEW Mount v2 Uploaded, print commenced, Fitment Update TBA
Test Fitted over the weekend, works great! Need a slight tweak to achieve square to router bed/ spoil board. The different tool holders are easy to swap when the mount is attached to the 611 plate.
Need 2x M4x35mm Long Bolts for the mounts shared with the Vacuum duct.
The support arm/ upper bearing bolt is just long enough to fit the arm and the nut goes back on, although the nylon on the nut doesnt engage the thread. It will be best to get some slightly longer bolts.
