Go the extra mile with your gift labeling this holiday season by printing out a personalized keepsake gift tag for your special somebody!

First, unzip fnt-LeagueGothic.zip into a fnt-LeagueGothic directory.

Using the "gift tag.scad" file, modify your text to provide your customized name and its location. Or, use one of the many examples provided in the stl files and just start calling your friends and family by one of those excellent names. No judgement here, lazypants!

I downloaded the uploads-f3-a7-b7-4d-06-OpenScadFont.scad and I was able to open it with OpenSCAD. I don't have any experience using OpenSCAD. I was wondering if you can explain to me how to put the names on the gift tag

Looks great! I have a question: after you unzip the folder for LeagueGothic, how do you link the info for the font to the "gift tag.scad" file? I've downloaded and unzipped fnt-LeagueGothic as well as OpenScadFont, but I'm not sure what to do with these two so that "gift tag.scad" knows how to incorporate them. My first time using OpenScad. Thanks!

elaraine, I've uploaded a new "gift tag.scad" and "OpenScadFont.scad" to this thing that should help. It appears that an update to OpenScad broke the old files. As long as OpenScadFont.scad is "next door" to your gift tag.scad, as well as that fnt-LeagueGothic directory, things should work now. Post here if it doesn't. I gotchur back.

karmavore, you're right, I tried the new files and they worked like a charm. Printed a tag and it looks amazing! FYI to others, I did rename the new file to be OpenScadFont since the gift tag file references the other file by that name. Once I renamed, everything worked perfectly. Thank you so much!!!

Very nice. Works well with Jetty Sailfish' "pause at Z pos' to swap filament.

Glad you like them. I'd considered modifying my gcode to do the same with my humble Marlin, but I don't have the filament stock yet to creating anything that isn't ugly (i.e. red and grey). I wouldn't mind seeing a photo of one under "Made One!"
