A holding page for proof of concept finger mechanisms, fully printed in Filaflex.

  • Gives increased grip and surface area contact.
  • Stronger grip torque.
  • Reduced part count.
  • Live hinge (no rubbing)
  • Opens automatically.
EDIT : 16/01/2015 : Uploaded all 5 fingers from Flexy-Hand which can be printed with support on their ends orientated at 45deg. These give a great print using customisable supports in CraftWare.
EDIT : 07/08/2014 : Uploaded all 5 fingers and fingertips from Flexy-Hand which can be printed with support on their side. Optimised integral hinges, so there is no visible "dogbone" cut-out in the phalanges.

Print the white one without support, but the gold one with support.
I printed with 2 perimeters and 20% infill. Comes out nice and spongy.
You can print the gold one as two halves and glue together too.

Hi, I have a son that was born with no fingers on his right hand, he does have a thumb. I have been looking around for the best options to get him a 3d printed hand. I have only just started to look around, he is 2 years old, but I was wondering if ther are options for hands that don´t incroporate the thumb and only have the four fingers. I haven´t seen any options like that. I would appreciate any information. Thanks so much.

Hi. I'm trying to use a material called Soft PLA and it seems to print the fingers very well so far. Is there a chance to slightly change the hinge at the base of the finer where it joins the palm. The larger hinges split when bending and I thought that maybe if there's a "V" groove this could help prevent splitting and wearing out?

That's some beautiful support material. Do you design them yourself, or is your slicer software that smart?

It is stated that the slicer software I used was CraftWare by Craftunique (http://www.craftunique.com/craftware). This has full support customisation, just like Simplify3D only FREE. Give it a go.

Hi! thats awesome, i'm trying to use craftware, but this software doesn't recognize my 3D printer, if i try to export the Gcode when im trying to run the gcode in other software doesn't recognize the extruder or the heat bed, do you have any solution?

Apologies, I was on Thingiverse on my phone and was just notified of the copy make. Doesn't show the description in this case.

Love your work.

Very impressive!
