Summary

i cut up the parts so people with a smaller printer can print them.
when joining them i know it will be under alot of stress so after i did the first join i waited for it to dry then over the top i painted on some super glue and i added tissue paper and warped it around the join, when dry the tissue paper kind of acts like fiberglass ive used the tequnique to repair all sorts of plastic items.

Is this a fully 3d printed clock, or just another one that you have to buy metal parts for?

Thanks for this! One of the pieces (clock_frame_2ed_side) has a spurious boundary, which causes Cura to print one section detached. I ran it through makeprintable.com and simply exported without any adjustments, which did the trick.

can you put up instruction how to assemble them plz

Is there any reason why this couldn't be miniaturized and printed as a watch or pocket watch movement?

i printed it 10% smaller and it sort of works but it seems at this stage you would need a really fine printer to get the gears perfect, the printer is used had a .15 layer thickness and it was still not quite right, im waiting for the new UP box to be relised and im going to print a massive one hahahaha

Gotcha. Do you think it'd be possible with a bit of hand sanding of the various pieces? How big is the clock as it stands right now?

15 cm on the frame the face is around 17 cm, if you sand it it increases the gap between the gear allowing more play so when you put the weight on, the gear's lock together and it does not turn, or it goes one full rotation and stops, i had to reprint many gears to get one sort of working, if your interested in clocks have a look at this http://www.wooden-gear-clocks.com/ascentclock.htm its my next project when i build my CNC

I guess I am pretty new to 3D printing but How did you print the halves with unsupported tabs at the joining sections?

The up mini has inbuilt software that generates it own support meterial you can also tell it how much or how little to do
