This is a simple oval lamp.
After assembling the first lamp I decided to create a second one which will fit as one part on my Prusa i3 MK3S printing area.
You need a led strip. I bought this: https://amzn.to/33suVKp (affiliate link). And a solder iron.
If you like the design, feel generous and want to say "Thank you", buy me a beer on PayPal: https://www.paypal.me/drdafra
Also I would be glad if you post a photo of your make. :)
I have created a big lamp, which is split into 2 parts. These two parts have to be glued together.
The smaller lamp (the oval part) can be printed as one part on the Prusa i3 MK3 (or similar) if you rotate the model by 30° on the z-axis.
The base is the same for both lamp types. I printed it with 50 % infill to make it a bit heavier for better standing.
For the oval parts and the diffusor you definitely need supports enabled everywhere.
For my lamps I used a manual color/filament switch at 5 mm for the base and 3.2 mm and 17 mm for the oval parts.
After printing and removing all supports you should put the oval part onto the base so the holes are above each other. Glueing the oval part to the base is not necessary. If it is too loose, apply some glue.
(If you chose to print the big lamp you definitely have to glue the two oval parts together.)
If not already done, measure how many led strip segments you need, cut the led strip and (if necessary) desolder the power supply cable from the led strip. Attach the led strip inside the oval part. Insert the cable in the hole of the base and solder it to the led strip.
If necessary hot glue the cable.
Put the diffusor as cover onto the led strip.
