Great part! I'd really like to try it out, but I'm not sure how to "open" it to how you printed it.

Please follow these easy steps to get the STL files you want:

  1. install openSCAD: https://www.openscad.org (it is free of charge)
  2. open the scad file of this thing
  3. adjust the parameters as you like (inner diameter, outer diameter, etc.)
  4. render the design by pressing F6
  5. export to STL by pressing F7

Alternatively you may open the file with "thingiverse customizer". Out of there you can also create a STL file. But I would recommend openSCAD.

I have imported, and exported from OpenSCAD, but the rendered and exported part is closed (see attached picture), rather than open (best print orientation). I'm sure I could figure out how to rotate the parts to the open position eventually, but I was hoping you have an easy way to adjust it to the suggested printing position.

Thanks for the help!

Did you use version 0.4 of the file? From 0.4 on there's a combobox where you can select what you want: closed, open or testprint.

Oh awesome, thanks! I was looking at version 0.1

I don't see the combo box, but I have an old version of openSCAD (version 2015.03-2). I'll update it later and try again. It renders in the open position now, which is what I was hoping to do.

Thanks again!

You're welcome. Also think about installing a 2019' version of openSCAD. Then you'll see the combobox with the print settings open, closed, testprint.

That's Cool, you can edit size of hole here:
https://www.thingiverse.com/apps/customizer/run?thing_id=3964206
modifier "Inner Diameter=30" soit 30mm par exemple

Good Job,

Exactly. But as I stated above I would prefer http://www.openscad.org -- it is free of charge and easy to use for getting the STL files you want.

yes, i have install it already, and i made some 3d object like :

Ok. Thank you for letting us know.

Very cool design!
I'm sure I'll use this at some point so I downloaded and played with it a bit.

Thank you for sharing. I'm happy if you like it. Have fun.
