Enjoying this mod. Works well even for 1.75mm filament.

before mounting this and screwing it in: put the filament through the filament guide and into the extruder! If you don't it will be impossible to get the filament into the extruder without taking it off again. the hole is a little far in and it bends the filament. This, as i see it, is a good thing as it adds additional grip. It does make it a little harder to mount though.

All in all I'm happy and the design seems solid! :)

I generally open the latch and remove the filament from the extruder before it cools. That way I can store my filament in a box with desiccant. When I'm ready to go again, I thread the filament through the hole and past the hobbed bolt into the extruder until it bottoms. Then I latch it shut. I always extruder "stale" material out of the nozzle before I print anyway, so this doesn't cost me much. I'm glad it's working for you!

It's a huge improvement to the original part and has solved numerous problems with the extruder stalling. It's going into my printrbot essential upgrades collection for sure! :)

Worked great. Will post pic. Thanks a lot! Printed in ABS at 40% infill with honeycomb fill. The little tiny bit at the top on layer 1 of one of the nut traps didn't quite stick good but the end result is fine.
