How is this hood actually fixed to the lens?

great design! one question, is possible to adapt it to a 46mm barrel size of the 25mm?

I wish this were posted before I spent the large sum for the original Olympus hood...
Now that you have this hood, would you mind also posting a version that provides more shading? It is often claimed that this hood does not need to be as shallow as it is (and in fact the shape of the corners is already proof of that).

I designed the hood assuming an angle of view of 85° (I do not own the original hood). In fact shifting the hood forward on the barrel already lets it protrude into the image. If you could specify more precisely which dimensions you wanted to be changed, I will give it a try.

Right, I thought your design looked a lot like the original but in fact it does not. The original does not have the "barrel" part that yours has. The original has a total depth of just 18.5mm. It looks like yours at the front, but does not have a "barrel" part where it mounts on the lens.
