This is a simple plate to mount a Saitek X-55 HOTAS setup to a VESA 100mm mount. I needed a cost effective way to mount my joystick and throttle and figured out I cloud very easily use a dual arm monitor mount. I purchased a dual monitor mount compatible with montors up to 32". For a dual arm setup you will need:
A printed VESA to X-55 mount for each controller
4@ 8-32 x 1/2" Machine screws for each controller
4@ 8-32 Hex nuts for each controller
4@ 1/4"-20 x 2&1/2" Machine screws for each controller
4@ 1/4"-20 Hex nuts for each controller
I very much like that I can adjust the height of the arms and also swivel the controllers to any position I need them. I'm also looking at ways to lock the arms into preset positions. Once I figure something out I will update here.
UPDATE November 23, 2019: Added blocks that will hold the main arms from the root of the mount at 30 degrees (Compatible with amazon product listed above). This helps stabilize the mount so the arms are less likely to move when operating the throttle and joystick. Print with a reasonable amount of infill and use supports when printed on the side. The model itself when imported with be at a 30 degree angle and can be adjusted as necessary to be level with the build plate. The angle mounts are a tight fit but will work!
Next I'll be working on some sort of clamp to immobilize the center of each arm so they won't move when using the controllers.
UPDATE: DEC 26, 2019 - Added an updated 30 degree bracket. It has much tighter tolerances and eliminates any arm sway that was occurring previously. I'm also printing and testing a clamp for immobilizing the center of the arms. I will upload once I've tested the print.
