good evening. My name is Alexey. I want you to clarify why we do not use your crowbar on the same principle. The gear ratio is just the thing. (Sightron nano.trakker) http://www.kenko-tokina.ru/product/sightron_nanotracker/#инфо ready to assist in the development and manufacture. I have an idea. You can use the thrust bearings (51100), or the like. The lid and the box is made of aluminum or PCB. Then the carrying capacity of the mount will enough (3-5 kg). If you interestingly implement this idea - happy to cooperate.

The worm does not work with the gear..... You also can see it if you check assembly.STL file. The worm is too fat, does not fit in the box... It's a nice design, but it's not functioning... need some fixes.

hmmm... i can upload a 'slimmer" worm... but due to the sharp angle, after printing, one would need to file it down a bit. that can be done for a nice fit. i'll upload a larger cage for it. thanks

Adibadro, I'm glad you answered my comment. I printed it yesterday, but was so sad when I seen it not fitting well, because I liked your approach a lot to build my star tracker.

The problem is that the gear does not fit the center of the worm (also the worm threads are too tight). The other problem is that the box it's too small for the worm, need at least 5 mm extra space in each side. All other parts fits very well. The box is nice, and the motor fits perfectly.

I like to make small machines like this one, but my problem is I do not know how do a 3d design... so I can only find designs ready to print with only few adaptations in post production.

Hope you can make a fix...


I will put a picture of the temporary mount (some holes need to be drilled) but I will make an Instructable post on the whole project. I have the same username there as well. also, 2 more pars were designed and used

Hi, do you have more information on how this design is mounted? How do I mount a camera and what drives the stepper?
