Frustrated by the low quality 3D models of Minion from Despicable Me which I have had found on Thingiverse, I took some time out to model one minion by myself.
This 3D model is optimised for FDM 3D printers. I intentionally not modelling it 100% following the animation model detail by detail, otherwise most 3D printers cannot print it perfectly.

I've forgotten the dimension of the wiggly eyes. I modelled this a few years ago.
Sorry, but you have to print it out and then measure the diameter of the goggle, then resize...with maths.

Hi! I´m new to this 3D printing thing. How did you model the minion? I mean, what kind of software do yo need to do this?

my 3 year old just decided she wanted a minion. So it'll be coming off the printer in about an hour :D

You sir have made for one happy daddy here :) (and one happy toddler girl)

how did you handle support in the mouth? Or should I make it bed only support?

Hey Zezmezzie

I also have the XYZ Da Vinci 1.0A

Do you have a video on howto hack it to use better software?

also got any tips?

Awesome model of dave! I gave one to a friend, loves it :) Thank you very much!

Dave is cool, thanks for sharing him

Printed Dave twice in 2 different sizes. So much fun. Only printing him standing so far. Might pring him lying on his back this time. Thanks

Hi ! First of all, thank u for sharing your model. Now, I'm having trouble printing it (and also with similar "minion" models). The problem I have it's that when I slice it with CuraEngine, it doesn't auto-generate the support for Dave's arms, so it will never print it right. How would I fix that? I've already try with "Support - everywhere", rotating it so that it is in "horizontal" position, I've run out of ideas. Thank u all for your comments and help, new to 3d printing! thanks!

Hi, I am really ignorant to this technology (new to this 3D printing thing.) I have both blue and yellow ninjaflex and I have a dual head extruder. (Flashforge Dreamer.) I want to print the minion in yellow and his clothes and glasses in blue. How would I do this? Do I need this file to be in 2 separate STLs to do this?

never too late to provide an useful info somewhere :)

here an example of a multicolor FDM minion, with a printer capable of 6 colors, this requires 6 STLs

I'm pretty sure you can only have one filament per .stl file. I don't imagine flashprint being any more capable than that.

I agree scratchymaster, I think it is one filament per .stl file. That's why I was hoping pho might post a version with the clothes, shoes, gloves and glasses as a 2nd stl file?

Pho, thanks a lot for sharing this file!
I was hoping to follow up on that request raised by mefree98. Pho, would you happen to have the original CAD files so that I could generate separate parts and therefore separate .stl files in order to print the body and the clothes in different colors. It would also make for a great assembling toy for my nephews!
Thanks a lot!

Probably could do with cutting in half and printing as 2 to remove any support at all.

Awesome print - I had over 100 people waiting for this to finish! Awesome design!

My first really good print. I love this minion. Thank You
