Penrose tiles have 5-fold rotational symmetry, but no translational symmetry, making them well suited for puzzles! This is a laser cut design that makes Penrose tile puzzle pieces.

There's a bunch of other great Penrose tiles on Thingverse (16184, 12003, 15021). This design is a kite-and-dart variation that has interlocking jigsaw puzzle-like edges.

Laser cut on wood, cardboard or plastic. Assemble, and enjoy!

Of note: the shapes are chiral. Be sure to color one side so that they don't accidentally get flipped. Alternately, engrave a different patterns the the kites and darts.

Looking at the file, some of the pointy parts are pretty thin, has that been a problem cutting them? (like .08" or so?)
