Great design, I love the fact it support itself.

I'm not sure if you realised, but the normals on the model are reversed. BTW, my kids love this one, they keep trying to snatch it out of the printer and its only halfway done ;)

Hi there,

I am wondering if anyone can offer some guidance for me. I am trying to print Dorus but the model starts to get droopy around the bottom of wings and mouth area. Any idea of cause/advice on how to prevent this?
I am using an Imaginator3D.

Thank You!

kwalla: That's because for your setup the "overhang" is a bit much. Sometimes printing with thinner layers can help. Or... if you're using pla... some extra cooling (maybe a fan). But mostly it's about layer height vs how much material is extruded.... though for this model... most printers should be able to handle it without much tweaking.

wow, i had thought the picture with the green background was a render until clicking for the large version and seeing the print layers. awesome job!

Printed very well with .2mm res and 10% infil with 2 shells. No support required.
