The Great Pyramid!
This little Customizer enables you to make a Pyramid in the dimensions of Egypt's Great Pyramid.
You can adjust the dimensions, number of layers, number of cover-stone's missing, entrances, base block, cover-stone placement accuracy (perfect smooth cover stones don't show up!).
The actual Great Pyramid has 210 layers - this involves millions of stones, and unfortunately OpenSCAD isn't able to make even the cover stones for that many! It truly is HUGE. I've included a computer rendered image of 210 layers, and you can see just how massive it is! The first layer is around 5 foot high.. around the height of your shoulders.
There's 209 more after that.
I've found printing around 40 layers makes each cover stone fairly visible, as long as there's a good amount of "jiggle" added to the stones placement.
Further technical info on the pyramid:
I found that moving the entire model 2mm up, and then printing with linear supports stops the ends from curling on my Flashforge Finder unheated base.
The design of the pyramid.
I used a number of sources to make this model.
The Great Pyramid of Giza which is also known as the Pyramid of Khufu or the Pyramid of Cheops, has been very helpfully detailed at this site:
Looking at the dimensions, it can be seen this thing is huge!
The entrances I added are included just for artistic license - the real entrance was blown in using explosives many decades ago - horrendous destruction. =(
It removed several cover stones, and the entranceway could be seen behind them - as though it had been covered up and disguised once it was no longer needed.
