Which settings do you recommend? I'm thinking in something like 55mm/s and 25% Infill, what do you think?
Thx in advance

Hi, thanks for making this. Is the infill percentage of any influence in the sound quality? Maybe print the drum hollow? Or is there no difference? Just checking how to get the best result when printing this.

Wish I could say it worked, but there is no "theme" to the "sound" this produces. Printed on PLA, printed perfectly, but no theme that I could make out.

first time I hear this... it's all in the speed with which you turn it. and the notes are pretty close - it's not metal to have that stiffness to produce clearly separated notes

What?:

"and the notes are pretty close - it's not metal to have that stiffness to produce clearly separated notes"

Are you trying to say that if the material was metallic that it would sound better?

how long does it take to print?

It depends heavily on the settings... My printer can do it in a few (~5) hours or a couple of days (~40 hrs), depending on how perfect I want it.

Great concept!

I've printed it out, but I can't figure out how to put the pieces together. Are instructions available? I was able to get the drum into the cage, and my daughter managed to get the double gear in place, but now I'm at a loss.

Is there a video of it being played? I'm really interested in printing it!

You are amazing! Thank you so much! ^-^

My sister's birthday is on the 4th and I really want to print this for her but my printer can't handle this many polygons ;-;
Could you make each part a separate model so I can print them 1 at a time?

sure! I've uploaded them as separate pieces. I'd recommend the stiffest material you have (PLA will do). I also recommend using as thin layers as you can
