I will plan to build this myself as an alternative. I do like the idea of true 'desktop' functionality by embedding the power supply inside the structure. It just adds more structure. Depending on how well I do with my existing builds I will look at getting this up and running in a couple of weeks. Incidentally, you might consider putting the parts together in 3 or 4 plates just so folks can print these in a few jobs. They can then print individual parts as necessary if they break them.

Sure! I will do them as print plates later on :)
I only nead to finish up the build instructions first and then will I also add some more improvements I have worked on ;)
My current temp work sucks the energy out of me but its money in the bank :)

I totally understand that. In that case, let me wait until you are done and I'll finish the latest SmartRap to add to my collection. Hopefully Thingiverse will notify me when you have created all your updates.

Very interesting, we made some modification of the wallace in the 3dm1 project, resulting on this: https://github.com/makevoid/RepRap_3DM1

do you plan to open source it?

I didt know about that printer version :)
My design is open source with creative commons ?
Anyone are free to adapt and change it to there neads.
I made it for fun.
If I selected the wrong license so let me know?
I might not respond for a few days as iam currently switching my internet connection from vdsl to fiber.
There is a lot of errors with relocating my email from the provider of my network.

This would be really nice cute printer and with lot of upgradable parts, will keep my eyes on you design. Good luck Cliff !.

It where one of my design goals and hardest to do :)
I wanted the end user to be able to upgrade and mix parts for there neads.
All the parts do actually not take that long to print on my prusa either as I have tried to cut down on plastic where there is room for it.

Looks Great and should be easy to build.

I have spent a lot of filament on various designs until I ended up with this one :)
Iam going to finetune it a lot more to be even simplier.

Yes, that how it is when you try to create something from scratch...
Good Job!
