I found a cool giant crystal, which I printed in glow in the dark green, which was pretty nifty. However I wanted to paint the base separately, so I took it off the base and grabbed some other bases.
(FWIW: It took me a brain cramp before I realized that printing bases upside down works great with no supports, etc).
Unrelated, but if you haven't seen my Lego R2-D2, you might want to check it out: http://L3-G0.com or http://youtube.com/myL3G0

I find this a bit amusing, because my model originally had no base to begin with until I decided to post it on Thingiverse.

:) That is amusing. If I wasn't printing in my fluorescent green, I probably wouldn't have wanted it. The ABS looks like a crystal color, but I want to paint the base... Also I'm using the crystal as a greeble on the control pillar as a greeblie on my drop pod http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:446893
