This is design #4 for a NERF barrel extension. It's based on a modded "Dracogen STV space gun" kit that Volpin Props[1] made.
There is a "bayonet mount" ring mount that lets you conect it to some NERF blasters. The added length might inrease the accuracy of your shots.
I have made several other designs with various greebles.
DO NOT FORCE CONNECTION or you may break your NERF blaster.
Read instructions before printing.
I would love to get feedback from people.

Very tall model. So tall, in fact, I created a shorter version http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:984174

This is a very tall model. Make sure your printer is tall enough.
It's also gets a little unstable at the top. Make sure the top doesn't wobble.
It may be worth splitting this into a top and bottom half.
There is a tube that inserts into the NERF blaster barrel. To support this, there is a membrane placed across the bayonet mount. You'll need to cut this out.

The file nerf-barrel4-dracogen_stv-membrane.stl has the membrane, which is required for printing unless you use supports, nerf-barrel4-dracogen_stv.stl does not have the membrane.

I've printed the original model and the shorter 125 model in ABS without supports, but with a raft.

Will this possibly attach to a Retaliator Nerf Gun? I am needing some attachments for mine to give it a Steampunk style look.
If not, could you possibly help me find one?

All of my barrels so far fit on the NERF twist-lock (the style is called a bayonet mount) connector. So it should work on the Retaliator as well as the "Modulus" blasters, etc.

I've had a few times where I needed to shim for a tighter fit by using bits of masking tape on the inside of the connector.

I just recently found that the barrel rotation is off by about 5 degrees. That shouldn't affect the Dracogen barrel, but may affect barrels that incorporate iron sights. A simple trim of the inside slots fixes the problem. None of this likely affects you.

You probably want to print the shorter version, as the longer one may be too big for many printers!

Please post pictures of your finished project!

Hey,I've been looking at your work & its amazing. But can you tell what software will I need to Print this????

Thanks! That's very nice of you to say!

If you just want to View this model, I suggest you download and install Meshlab [ http://sourceforge.net/projects/meshlab/ ] which is open source.

If you want to Print it, your printer probably came with or recommended software to use to Position, Slice and Print/Monitor.

At my hackerspace, we've used versions of Repetier-Host, Replicator-G and MakerBot to perform these functions on 4 different types of printers. Each of these has different features. You do need to be able to put the specifics of your printer into the software. I suggest going with which ever one is free, so probably Repetier-Host or Replicator-G. There are other programs available.

In theory, if you're very command-line savvy, you could use a slicing program directly from the command line and provide it ALL of the options.
