Grats man, you get featured for the push pin arrow, then not for the follow up (that I like to think I had something to do with) with the point and mark, but then for this. You are on a roll. I just wonder how you get away with "borrowing" all of those office supplies;)

when short of pencils you can also print the shelf-bottom as I did on my spool holder shelf:

Your hex rod seems to be about 1.5 mm too large in diameter - at least when I printed one to try for this pencil shelf. I had better luck with this scrap of OpenScad:
rotate([-90,0,0]) cylinder(d=8.0, h=120, $fn=6);
Change the h=120 to change the length.

Oh, I see. I measured the rods to some pencils I had lying around (Faber Castell). I wasnt aware that there might be different sizes of pencil diameters. Thx for trytesting and clarification.
