I had four pegs printed. Two were for the pwr/reset buttons, but what are the other two for?

I also agree that it could be a few millimeters wider for the SATA cable.

Do you use support to print the part with buttons holes?

It is compatible with Raspberry Pi?

Can you split the objects up into separate files. My print bed is only 200x200. Thanks

Use sli3r and split project, then can select object

will be nice if you post the source ..

like the first version but want more polygons .. the front is not really round :-(

I'm currently printing a copy.

I've seen 2 minor problems :

  • There isn't much space behing the hard drive. The SATA connecter ends up badly bent. A few more millimeters would be nice.
  • The slots for the buttons reset and power press on the SD card. Sometimes, after I close the casing, my Banana Pi doesn't boot because the SD card is slightly disconnected (pressing on it slighty usullay fix the problem). Regarding this one, I'm not sure if you can do anything about it. Looks like more a design problem on the Banana Pi itself than the BanaNAS. :/

Anyway, thank you very much for your work. It's a really nice looking casing.

Indeed, there is little left my place but many users and friends do not have a problem with that because you bend time and nothing ever happens, it is not. As for the SD card is a matter of the quality of the print. All prints did not have this problem. You can imagine the knife cut the palm buttons.

We will not do case for disk 3.5 ".

Will this house a non-banana pi pro with the edimax wi-fi dongle?

This looks awesome, Is there space for 2 2.5" hard drives? If not can you create one that does have space for 2 hard drives.

Also will this work for the Raspberry Pi?

We have succesfully tested 1-to-5 SATA2 Port Multiplier on Banana Pi board. So there is an option to create a RAID version of BanaNAS with built in wifi.
My goal is to develop a casing with:

  • 4 bays for 2.5' disk
  • banana pi pro board
  • 5A 5V power supply
  • SATA2 Port Multiplier
  • external port for detachable wifi antena
  • buttons for power and restart

I cannot wait for this! Which port multipliers work with the Banana Pi that you have tested?

Do you know if these systems will support multiple drives via a single SATA port. Does it support SATA port multiplier specification? Hardly worth building a multi-disk case if you can only support one disk. Also what about power considerations, You would have to consider some kind of external power supply which could provide the right voltage to the each drive and to the banana pi. So there are a lot more logistics to work out.

I am not sure about multiple ports via SATA but others are looking into it on the forum. I was able to power 2 drivers using only a 5V 2A adapter for one drive through SATA and another through USB.

Have you updated this build btw? If a new version is incoming I will wait to print it at school.

Cyryllo made the original case but never released the CAD files for reasons unknown. However I have taken the original CAD design using the STL file as a guide and made a Google Sketchup version, since most of us do not have access to CAD. I have made a version of the board side, but now I am working on the disk side. I suppose I could just make it a little wider and modify the drive mounts to stack the drives for a multi-drive configuration if you wanted to use the USB port. So what you end up with is a "fatter" case, but I dont believe it would look too awkward. I am still new to a lot of this....I will post my sketchup files as soon as I have them finished and tested under a new project. But I am probably a week out from having the other side completed. Anyway, i hope this paves the way for a more community oriented development process for the the banana pi. Some noteable changes in the Sketchup version include more polygons on the corners so you have smooth corners. I am also reducing some of the usage of material through other design modifications so that the print goes a little faster.

Add cad file :)

Soon We will provide CAD file

Can you provide the CAD file?

Sory we not share source file, only STL

No worries, I will make my own in Sketchup. If anyone is interested, I will post the improved design here.

Also open to ideas for modifications if anyone has them.

can you increase the polygon's so that the front is round?

thanks smuk

?wietny projekt, pozdrawiam.

If it is made with opens cad, do you provide the source?

have to make some improvments :-)

We crate in autocad. Sory we not share source file, only STL
We still improving case

great thing ..

where is the difference between banaNAS und banaNAS02 stls ?

regards from germany

edit: see it .. with and without board and hdd ...

BanaNAS02 is only for view ;)

thanks :-)

just printing :-)
