Summary

A replicant of user Cushwa's "Owl Statue" in low poly.
I moved the vertices at the base to ensure they all are Z-Axis zero, so it should print with a flat base.
Edits were made in Blender using Decimate to achieve the desired polygon count.

Edits:

I updated the owl slightly to hopefully improve printing of some of the more angular surfaces. This model should be easier to print without gaps.

Do you think this would print OK hollow? If it isn't perfect that's OK I just want something to try to scare the birds away from stealing all my gooseberries again this year.

Would you be willing to share your design process? I have designed 3D figures in DAZ Studio, but too detailed for my printer. I'd like to learn more about creating low poly figured for tabletop games.

It's pretty simple. It's a decimate modifier in Blender. I moved the Ratio slider down from 1.0 to maybe 0.4 or lower?

Don't forget to check the bottom of your model and either slice it flat or move the jagged vertices to be level with the z-axis (i.e. flat surface for the bottom).

I am not positive, but I think you need to use the triangulate checkbox as well.

There are probably some Youtube tutorials as well, but you can do an internet search for decimate and blender and several guides should come up.

Once you decimate it in Blender, you can export it out as an STL or some other file type and edit it more in a different program.
