"In a futuristic city, sharply divided between the working class and the city planners, the son of the city's mastermind falls in love with a working class prophet who predicts the coming of a savior to mediate their differences!" Metropolis - 1927

My tribute to the wonderful age of sci-fye and modernism during the roaring 20s, it was truly a golden era for futurism and geometry in Architecture.

Godzilla Metropolis - Diorama

I'm printing a scaled down verson on my FF creator pro (operates same as Makerbot rep dual except it can usb print along with sd print) that with support will take 3 hours. Due the small size I'm printing in would I even need support? I use makerbot desktop for my prints and I'm worried that if I use support it will be a pain to remove.

I have printed this large scale without support and it has done just fine, I would say go no support and you should be ok

what is the original size of the city?

good work! good design! very good printing! i love your work ibudmen!! thx

This would be a cool display with a working fountain, to simulate the flood.

What a beautiful design! What ddi you model it in?

Impressive! Several questions:

  1. What was the quality of your print?
  2. Print time?
  3. Infil?
  4. Suppose I wanted to print two of this model on the same platform. How much would the print time, infil, and quality differ?

I do not own a Replicator 2 yet, this is for research purposes. Your assistance will be much appreciated!

  1. 0.23mm layer height
  2. 7 hour Print Time
  3. 15% Infill - 1 shell
  4. If you did 1 shell and 15% infill for both it would probably be upwards of 12 hours, but they should come out virtually the same

You said 15% Infill - 1 shell = 7 hours, and then you said, If you did 1 shell and 15% infill for both it would probably be upwards of 12 hours. How did 7 go up to 12?

Sorry for the confusion! Mohtadi89 asked "Suppose I wanted to print two of this model on the same platform. How much would the print time, infil, and quality differ?" -- He was asking how long it would take to print 2 of the model. One model takes 7 hours, if you double that you get 14hrs, but I know sometimes the machine can work surprisingly faster and that's why I estimated 12 hours.

Mind me asking what machine you printed this with and is this printed with abs?

Printed on a Replicator 2 in PLA, I had to scale it down from the original model size just a bit - I see no reason why you couldn't print it in ABS though and with scaling on whatever printer you have. Let me know if you run into any issues or have other concerns!
