How cube help to test the printer?

It's to test your printer's accuracy.

It's for your testing, so you can understand what you need to change. It's basically a test print.

Got nearly a perfect 40 all around; maximum variation 0.10. Ended with a very ugly top layer. Not sure why. Thinking it may be with a 10% infill I chose.

Make top/bottom she'll thicker. I use 0.8mm shells.

good calibration print to check the no. of steps in your axes by measuring the dimensions and also extruder steps by looking at the top solid surface.

Hi!

I printed this cube on my newly born Smartrap with PLA and got X=40.13, Y=40.22, Z=39.93 which is very good results for this printer !.

Nostalgic......the first object I printed on my Makerbot cupcake with the ancient handbuilt mk4 extruder back in 09.
Those were tough days for 3d pioneers, you were lucky the printer and extruder could hold up more than 2-3 objects before needing repairs......

y - 39,67

x - 39.97

z - 36,69

so all in all not bad, this was my prusa's first print ever, and not really calibrated -so im happy :)

good god, I printed this and my cube was 52X52 by 40. Looks like I need to calibrate my x and y steps!

My cube printed out 50mm on a side and 100mm high...

Hi guys. I'm a beginner in printing and nearly finished building my reprap. I want to print this object to be able to finetune my machine but what I'm really wondering about is how you printed the top side of the cube as my g-codes show me that the cube is not solid but empty? Could you enlight me? Thanks in advance.

Make infill in slicer around 15-30%.

Reference object, ftw!
