Summary

The fan is mounted with an angle and the last plate of heatsink should be cooled with this version. This could avoid the jam
Aktually there are no drill holes for the fan and the part is work in progress.

  • Update 08.10.2014: I have exchanged the STL because the first one wasn't matching exactly on extruder side. The actual file should do
  • Update 08.10.2014: Based on print issues of b version I have made some stabilization changes. If you have enaugh space around the hotend you should take the c version.
  • Update 14.10.2014: You need to use a 1,5-2mm thick washer on top of the heatsink to get it fixed. See also the original thing from kuraasu.

Hi turbotommi,
i've seen that you are quite expert on the issue with the e3d v6-direct-3mm hotend + k8200/3drag + PLA filament.
Can you confirm that with this support you solved all the jam problems of the mentioned configuration?
Thanks

I use the "c" mount since half a year now. It's important using the delivered E3Dv6 heater element also (instead of stock heater). I havn't jam since using this mount. One thing: Through the fan angle the nozzle get cooled. This can result in bad bed adhesion. Use a bit capton tape from bottom of fan mount over to aluminium block to keep the air stream above the heating block.
I havn't any expierience with ABS but PLA works for me

Thanks for your answer!
I cannot understand what you mean with "It's important using the delivered E3Dv6 heater element also (instead of stock heater)".
Then, maybe a photo would better help, if it's not asking too much.
Thanks a lot in the meanwhile.
