Could someone tell me the internal diameter of the mounting piece? My lamp has a ~27mm spindle and a lock ring.

hey, yes its 27mm, depending on your printer, it may end up being 0.2 bigger or smaller than that. but it should still fit, mine was a tiny bit smaller so it was tight getting it on.

not sure how to get this to print from cura? any help?

Heya, Ive never used cura before, but a little googling suggests that you go to expert setting and set it to "spiralize the outside contour".

Beautiful design
But I notice your lamp shade STL file came as a solid object ?
How did you achieve the hole when print out?

Hi there, thanks :)

these settings on your slic3r config mean that the perimeter will have 2 wall thickness, and there will be no top or bottom printed. creating the shell. doing it this way is easier than actually modeling the shell. hope its the answer you're after :)

cool, you just saved my day buddy
Been wasting time with several futile efford with "hollow function" of Meshmixer, the "shell" function of 123design also not usable.

Will try out slic3r tonite.

I'm new to 3D printing. Just bought a makerbot rep 2x and a 5th generation
