This is just the x axis idler but with the number of faces reduced from 66160 to 7742. I was having trouble with RepSnapper crashing with the original.

I just did a print much slower than usual and the bumps are gone... I guess I need to print slower if I want higher quality prints.

why is the print so terrible?

This white PLA is particularly bumpy for some reason. The strings are typical on all my prints and I have seen them on other Mendels driven by RepSnapper as well, but they trim off easily. :)

I just uploaded two pictures post clean-up :)

Is that ultimachines white pla? It looks like the results from one of my MBI ABS Steam powered extrusion experiments.

It is Ultimachine PLA. I know someone else has had blobs like that on the surface. We are both running RepSnapper and that may be part of it. I also noticed that running on my laptop I get more bumps than on my desktop.

It looks like that the software is not cleanly layering the top surface, it still looks as if its on a fill layer not on a solid surface layer, also i noticed that there is light comming through the side walls, is your layer height correct?

i guess it may be the software causing the blobs, i just spent 4 days sorting out the settings for my makerbot, and only just getting good prints (had makerbot building for 2 yrs)

Also what size nozzel are you using?

That string bunnybox thing is absolutely horrifying for some reason
