Im looking at printing this for my sister, how big do you think I could scale these, I think she wants like a 20 lmao.

That should work, though I'm sure there will be ways it won't be as good as a purpose-designed Big Frickin' Hook. Let me know how you get on!

6mm and 8mm hooks are the same. 10mm is more big but i don't trust this sistem to calculate

you posted 2 times 8mm hook i checked the size

How does the surface of the print affect use? If it catches on the fiber in use, have you tried ABS with acetone smoothing? If so, did that help enough?

The surfaces of mine are a bit rough, and do catch on small fibres. I haven't tried acetone smoothing - if you do, please let me know how you get on with it!

Would be nice to customize the hook separate from the handle. My mom would like wider grips to make it easier to use.

So you want, say, an 8mm diameter hook on a 16mm diameter handle? You can change the width of the hook already by setting the narrowing ratio (allowable values are between 0 and 0.5), but that doesn't affect the height of the hook. Hmmm. It should be possible, but it's been 2.5 years since I looked at this code and I don't know when I'll have time to look at it - I make no promises :-)

If you're comfortable with SCAD yourself and write a patch to do this, I'd love to merge it - a pull request on GitHub would be ideal, but if you could just get me the updated file somehow I'll be able to work it out :-)

I have no experience with scad but if I get some I'll take a look at this and send a PR. Thanks!

SCAD's pretty straightforward, and there's a nice GUI/IDE: http://www.openscad.org/ Good luck!
