I made this for my tabletop game. The tentacles were created by VeerleC, and you can download them here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:172713

I just posted my print of the head with some tentacles. Thanks again for breaking the head in two so I could print it.
I mentioned in my comments that I printed a couple of large versions of the tentacles for an encounter and it would be great to have a version of the tentacle with a corkscrew hook that could hold a 28mm mini, for when the tentacle grabs a character. I was able to heat the tentacle and bend it into a hook that works, but it's not ideal (there's a picture with my "I made one" post.) It would be better if it were designed into the tentacle. I don't know if this is possible.

I think it still looks pretty great! Nice work!

This is amazing. Could you possibly cut it into two pieces: mouth and tentacles as one and the body as the other? I really want to build this, but it won't fit in my 4"x4" print space of my Printrbot Play.

Ok the body was split. Good luck!

Thanks a million. I'll post pics when it's done.

I'll see what I can do. I don't think I'll get a chance to this week but I'll try

That would be fantastic! Thank You!!!!!

Its too big for my puny M3D :-(
Guess Ill have to shrink it or chop in half and glue....
Love the model and the tentacle idea is rad! My D&D group beware!

does this need supports?

Haha wow, It's really cool to see what you did with my design!

Its a pretty awesome one too! Thanks!

nice, give him a few more eyes and he could be a perfect Watcher in the Water...

Where are the tentacles?

The tentacles were made by another Thingaverse artist named VeerleC, and you can download them here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:172713

Thank you ! ^.^

This looks amazing! What material was this printed in, what did you do to process it after printing? Smoothing? Type of paint?

I used basic PLA. After printing, I sanded it in the rough areas. There were some cracks that showed up, so I filled them with sculpy clay. After that, I simply painted with acrylic. Pretty simple process in the end.

Not bad at all! Have you had any trouble with the paint adhering, and was it over the full piece, or did you print in brown and just paint the details?

Oh I printed it white and the paint stays on just fine.
