I cut the back 0.5mm from the ornament and scaled to 50% (so that it didn't fill the entire bed of my 220x220mm print space). It printed beautifully.

I think "Doves" is the word you're looking for.

Nice ornament though. ;')

Tried three times to get this printed on my Creality Ender 3. It prints the initial skirt just fine, but then it's as though the nozzle is too high off the bed and it just extrudes filament into air off the bed. All prints before and after trying this one were perfect as usual. Don't understand it!

Your slicer should have a cut function. You can cut enough off the back to make it flat. Then make sure it's on platform.

Thanks. I'm very new to 3D printing and haven't got my head round everything yet. I'm using Cura 3.6 and I can't find a cut function anywhere, or a 'start at layer x' function which some other slicers seem to have. If you know how to cut the bottom off with Cura I'd appreciate a steer.

This model is not flat on the back and will give you grief.
I was able to get good results by starting at .5mm (cut off the bottom in the slicer).
Use higher infill for a smoother top.
