Formula E tub sliced for printing

can i make it on google sketch up

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean by that?

I cannot thank you enough for this model, watching it come together on my new printer is an absolute work of art. Absolute must have for any fan of the series.

This is awesome! If you don't mind me asking, how did you 3d model it? I want to do scale models of vintage cars, the answer could help me a lot. Thanks, and I wish you problemless printing :).

I start off by lining up blueprints (or in the case of this car, photographs that didn't quite match) like this: http://darkscarab.com/view/47#step0
Then I create a cube and extrude it out into the rough shape of the car body (really, half of the body and then mirroring it, as cars are usually symmetrical), apply subsurface modifiers to get it smooth, add details from new cubes, cylinders and spheres, and merge it into something printable with boolean modifiers.
You can maybe get a more visual representation of my process by downloading the .blend file from a model like the Hoonicorn and looking through all of the cubes and cylinders http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:967959

does the wheels move by the steering wheel, does anyone know!!!!

The model does not have working steering. You could certainly add a steering mechanism to the design, but you would probably have to print it at a larger scale to get a steering mechanism that is not weak or very difficult to assemble.

Great looking car, but one critical thing is missing.....The Driver, any luck that we might see a driver add on sometime soon? Cheers =)

Do the wheels actually move? Is glue required? Does it fit and latch together?

Depends on how accurately your printer reproduces the parts and maybe on how much time you're willing to spend on filing and sanding connections

lol your car is fucking awesome

My fingers itch to make it RC........

nice model
