This is a adapter to fit standard exhaust hoses to the Full Spectrum 40W Hobby Laser and the HPC LS3020 Laser Cutter. It might probably fit a few other laser cutters from China as well.

The standard exhaust fans that come with these lasercutters are not all that great. They are inefficient, leaky, have a non-standard hose fitting, and block access to the back laser compartment. This adapter allows you to fit a standard exhaust hose to the laser, which can then be connected to some proper air filtration equipment.

It was created by Alexander Brock in the RaumZeitLabor hackerspace in Mannheim, Germany, for their FS laser cutter.


  • Cut the parts out on a laser cutter using the two files provided. 5mm MDF or plywood should work fine.
  • Glue the parts together.
  • Fit a 100mm exhaust hose fitting to the back, using glue and screws.
  • Seal all corners from the inside with silicone.
  • Optional: Apply some thick foam tape (don't know the proper english word for it, sorry) to the side that sits on the laser case for extra sealing.

I've remade this from scratch. The files are in openSCAD and adjust for material thickness etc. They are also laid out so they fit on the bed, and are easy to adjust to match your available materials.

What's the point of putting this on here for download?
It's for the ls3020 and these files are way to big for this machine to cut from.
We all need this in a4 format or individual files please.

The existing files are too big for my 40w laser bed (even after modifying it). Thanks anyway for a great design!

We made one of these for our FS laser as well; I don't think anyone thought to post to thingiverse at the time though. Be sure if you're venting, to put the fan, etc at the end of the pipe. You don't want positive air pressure at any point inside the premises, as even the tiniest of leaks, and you can smell acrylic, etc.

I think we also used rubber cement on the inside of ours in order to help achieve air tightness.
