Here's a great little shaving mug. The top of the cup is slightly concave to help keep the lather inside and the lip has a hard edge for scraping off the brush. Used it a couple times and it works great! Recommend 100% fill to ensure it is water-tight

I was looking for a nice looking shaving cup or mug and decided I liked the curves on yours. I'm going to have to pass though because of some information that I'm being fed by Simplify3d. Weight: 487g. Filament length: 16.2m. Yeah, meters. Time: 48 hours, 25 minutes.

What settings did you use to print this? If it's something I'm going to really use I feel like high quality printing is necessary, and 100% infill is mandatory to make it water tight. Not sure where I can cut time off of it - other than taking your design and cutting part of the base off.

It's been a while since I made this but I'm pretty sure I printed it with 0.2 mm layer height and with either concentric or spiralized infill.
Given that there is no fine detail, this was sufficient, and I actually liked the texture as it makes the mug easier to grip.

With a print speed of 60 mm/s and 100% in-fill (spiralized), CURA is showing 15 hours to print.

If you prefer a smooth finish I recommend one of the following:

1) Print it in ABS and give it an Acetone vapor bath (google if you're unsure what this is, it's not hard): it smooths the print lines, gives a high-gloss finish, and strengthens the print (DOES NOT WORK WITH PLA!)

2) Print with less infill and then coat it with XTC-3D (sold by smooth-on- also just google it, it's great stuff, works with anything).

Hope that helps, if you do end up printing one I'd love to see a pic :D
Good Luck.
