I printed the spiral and it doesn't mate. I am going to print another set and mirror it. Shame :(

First I have heard of that. Printing with a raft? I usually do.

raft has nothing to do with it. The two pieces of the spiral don't mate. Need to be mirrored. The spiral goes the same way on both. Can't attach them together.

If you look at the images that is how it is supposed to be. The spiral does not reverse direction at the seam.

I see what the idea is. It looked to me like the inner cuver should flow, but you have it crossing intentionally. Hard to see in clear plastic. I want to try to mirror one side and see how it looks.

Remix away. Happy holidays!

How about the tree? It needs some kind of support for the star.

I have printed the tree with and without supports. In both cases I ended up cleaning up the bottom of the star points with a knife. My take is on my printer (Rep 2) it did not matter which. If you scale it up then yes I would add supports.

I reckon the tree balls are not printable without support and you printed with different material support, right?

They print without support. Use a raft though so it has a decent starting point.

Hi Brackett27, I'm having trouble printing these without support especially at the unsupported sharp corners towards the bottom of the ball ornament. Any tips, do you try to go slow or fast at these locations or increase the layer height? Maybe decrease print temp? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I printed them on a raft and there was enough adhesion to get the sphere going. I did not have to tweak my settings to do this. I am using a Rep 2. What printer are you using? Are you using PLA? Is your bed heated?
