made a complete redesign with this Remix. Goal was to excange the printed and fast breaking clips with a (metric) Screw to fix the wheels to the base. You Need one M3x8mm Screw for every gear.

gear design is "very close" to metric gears with modul 1.

i´ve printed the first ones with 0.5mm nozzle, should better be done with a 0.25mm nozzle...

will upload a few more bases soon... :)

added a upside-down Version of the gears to get the glossy side up when printing abs directly on glass. this ones have the hole closed with a 0.5mm thin wall to make em printable without support. the wall needs to get drilled after printing...
base for Z20-Z40
two Z40 gears with one or two grooves

Very nice - excellent shape design and the addition of the 3rd gear was a great expansion on the original idea.

i think he wants to test what happens... if someone is going to sue him... etc...
i´m interested too in how thingiverse and ebay are going to react on this...

i´m not totaly mad cuz he took my design... it was a remix (fully new drawn, but basically not my own idea)

just siting in the first row and havin my popcorn with me in this case... ;)

I used m3x10 and a spacer below the gears. Really helps turning the gears. Thank you for sharing.

scale up Z by 1.25-1.3 (25-30%) to prevent the screw-head look out of the gears if you take 10mm screws. ;)

wheres the pins to hold gears in place

this thing uses M3 screws, no Pins...

M3x8mm Screws to be exact.

can you help me i want to print the long one with the three gears model but i cant figure out what gears go in there. can you tell me there names please?

every base has the needed gears in it´s filename. so if you want to print this base: "halter_triple_Z20-30-40.stl"

for this one you need:
1x modul1_Z20,
1x modul1_Z30,
1x modul1_Z40

there are multiple versions with knobs, dents or to print upside down... all of those fit.

the Z stands for "zahn" (german for tooth) so "Z20" means it is a 20 tooth gear.

the cases are completly made with SpaceClaim´s DesignSpark Mechanical (Freeware)

die Zahnräder hatte ich als dxf files vorliegen -> in blender importiert -> als stl gespeichert -> in designspark eingeladen -> die Kontur kopiert und dann in die tiefe gezogen...

thanks for the pic. if it fits to tight you can drill up the holes in the gears a bit or scale the base up 1-3% ;)

I just played with the gears in Thingaverse and added a small knob to top edge of the larger gears to make them easier to turn with finger or thumb. Had to run the STL from Thingaverse through Netfab online but seems to print fine after than. I will post a picture of the gears

Please, can you provide separate .stl for grooved Z40,
one with 1 groove and one with 2 groove ?

Edit: It'possible to split object with Repetier-Host. :-)

Could you tell us what gears can fit in what shapes?

Its in the filenames... Halter-Duo-Z20-z40.stl is for 2 gears, One z20 and One z40....
