This is a parametric script for generating a simple board with regularly spaced holes. I'm using it instead of knots for polypropylene rope that doesn't knot well.

The geometry is fundamentally 2D so this could be done with a laser cutter or even a drill.


The script lets you set the number of holes, the board thickness, the hole radius, and the amount of spacing between holes.

Print, clean, thread rope.

Don't use for anything that might kill you if things go wrong.

cast in bronze should work well and not corrode in sea water...could be useful

I'm sure something like this is commercially produced, and mass production should make them cheaper. Also, I've seen things like this made out of wood.
