I ordered it printed as i am not use to working with my 3d printer yet. Although i had to shave every bobbin piece and foot and side holders to make it all fit together every thing turned out great. Material used is pla and it holds up quite well. I did not change fill settings so it was printed at 17 percent fill. Like i said it turned out great. Good luck everyone. This is a fun project! Many great thanks to creator: LaserSaber for this!

since this is a dc motor, it could be used as a generator - i wonder how much power it uses/ makes - if it is more efficient as a motor or a generator .. i'm guessing on the order of 5 to 10 watts depending on load /rpm ... there is a burn out point, someone could push it to 15w and depending on ambient temps and duration it could last 10 min or so before the laminate starts smokin' !~

Please could you explain how you make your coils

i made it out of pla (bad move) - it dries so stiff parts dont fit or give .. def abs , nylon, ninjaflex --- .. u might need an extended heat sink to handle the higher temps associated with the more rubbery materials ...

Awesome ! Very nice work.
