A spool holder design that can be used with any size spool on the market. Utilizes a 3/8" cap screw to attach a hub to the spool. Three bearings provide low friction thrust support, while tapered hub walls provide axial support. To use with a different width spool, simply buy a longer or shorter 3/8" cap screw at your local hardware store.

I like this design a lot, very clever work! A n observation and a question... the spools typically have raised radial ridges at least two raised concentric circular ridges. The spool holder, I am assuming the bearings contact the first concentric circular ridge from the center allowing for a smooth rotation, is this correct?

Just FYI, nut holes are too big for 3/8 hex cap nut tho. It's rotating inside. Nuts measure 14.10mm flat to flat and hole is 17.1mm.
Also M4 screws work too (instead of M5).
