Hi Marius,
I showed this box at a dinner party and people were very impressed.

Cool :)
We haven't gotten around to actually printing it ourselves yet (thus the half-finished AOI file).
Do you have a photo available?

Hi Kintel,
I don't understand these models, they are full of holes. The SLT file has two objects but I thought they are only allowed to have one.

1) You probably cannot print this as it is, but export it twice from AOI and print each part separately. With aggressive towering and larger distance between the objects, it might be possible to print both in one go using Skeinforge.

2) The slicer won't mind about these holes since it only slices horizontally. I created the model like this since it's a bit easier than to fiddle around with CSG objects in AOI.

I haven't actually printed it myself yet :/

I printed the bottom object and it came out well but there is no top object, just three components. How do I combine them in AOI into one object to export? Boolean ops don't work on non solid objects.

Also I think the top object will need inverting to build correctly.

OK I worked it out. I used the "join objects" script to make the top and inverted it. I came out fine although it is quite a tight fit.

Not sure what I will use it for but it looks nice, thanks for posting it.
