I really want to make this (actually like 10 of these to paint gold and hang as ornaments on my tree), but at about a 20% scale. When I try to do so, the walls are so thin that they don't even show up in Cura! Any chance you could make a version that is about the size of a regular Christmas tree spherical ornament? Or is there some setting in Cura I can take advantage of to still be able to print this version at 20% scale?

Sorry, I'm not sure of an easy way to do that. The thin walls make it print in vase mode to be translucent, but they still have some thickness to them. (Too bad we can't just say "print this as a hollow thing" and have a hollowed out model).

By the way, best 3D star to date! great design.

Thanks, much appreciated.

Hi, question, did somebody used Simplify3D? I got some wrong slicing with the Tree_Topper_Big_Point_Hollow.stl. The first layers are not correct. The Center was printed fine.

I used makerware's default slicer from last year when I made this. It may be that the structure is too thin for Simplify to behave quite right. I'll try to check later tonight.

Thanks that would be great, so in meantime I will try to use MakerBot Software, I never used it since weeks ;-)

Me too... there's a chance makerware's updates also have changed it a little.

Yea, you may also try repairing it like in 3D Builder - I've learned a bit about edges and stuff, it's possible the model isn't right. I won't have time to check for 10 hours though...
