Want one of those Spacepilots, but cannot afford it? The handrest is designed for increased comfort, and fits the "space navigator for notebooks" 3D mouse.

There are two versions of this handrest. A onepiece edition, and a twopiece edition. I used a flexible PLA for the black inner part where the hand is in contact with the handrest. Bear in mind, there is 0mm tolerance between the parts.

As mentioned above, this thing is only compatible with the "space navigator for notebooks", and simply snaps onto it. I plan to make one for the original "space navigator", but i gave to get hold of it first.

I really recommend this product to anyone who is annoyed by the 3D mouse's ability to stick to the table.

Printed on a Ultimaker, sliced in Cura.

Heated bed is crucial, as the shape is prone to warping.

material: PLA, flexPLA

0,1mm layers or less

50% fill

I do alot of CAD design and I was wondering how you like your space navigator mouse and what you do with it.

Replace the heavy metal foot with a lightweight SLS-part.
Add a hand rest and a transport cover - and you are ready to go!

Here is how I did it: http://www.4tech.dk/foot.htmhttp://www.4tech.dk/foot.htm

wow. that was really well done! my favourite being the laphroag cardboard thingy travel casing.

I'm thinking a little Sugru on the inset pad & it would be great. I'm going to try tonight.

how did it go? pictures?

It came out nicely - the pic is attached in the "Made" section of this page.

good stuff! I should get hold of some sugru, maybe even make a small slot for it in the design.

Love the design. Any chance to split the main part in 2? I can just print the insert but the rest is too long for my printer. If you can't its ok I'll wait until my UM is back up and running.

great design! printing it now

Give me some feedback on how the navigator fits. Mine was a bit tight, possibly because i did 120% over extrusion..

overall I may say that esthetically design is good; but surface dont look good after printing - also myin broke at the cable joint as it was a bit too small I guess; also on my table it just slides all over the place and makes it hard to use

lets have a look at where it failed. i will tweak the design in the weekend based on some of the feedback.

Why is the cable port so tall? Why not have just a small half circle on the bottom?

really very nice!
Unfortunately I do not have the notebook version: (
I'd like to change for my version..

i wil print this in transparent PLA so the blue led can keep blind my eyes XD

Awesome. let us have a look at it!

Designing one of these has been on my to-to list for quite some time now (2 years since I got my printer working). I always envisioned it folding into a carry case though.

nice idea with combined use. handrest and carry case
