UK map jigsaw puzzle with two options for case though case is not must but it makes the life of little one easier. I suggest paste UK map sticker on printed jigsaw or do a paint (refer my india map jigsaw), color really make it look attractive.
Also I recommend you print case1 and not case2 (refer instruction and picture for why i am saying so). If anybody got an idea to get it right please post it into comment.
map-case1 - printed using slic3r (dimension more or less same as map, i have used same as in stl)
Layer Height = 0.25 (my head 0.5 mm)
Vertical Shells > Perimeters
Horizontal Shells > Solid Layer.Top=0 and Bottom=2
Infill > Fill density = 0
Note: Top = 0 & Fill density=0 makes it a hollow object
For more details I suggest refer http://slic3r.org/blog
Topic: Tip: printing vases
Post Processing: Almost nil
First I made this and printed but have to spent lots of time in post processing, at last have cut the scotland into half to make it fit in the block. Issue is because there are many small curves/area. If we make the map boundary little smooth it will work.
if you want to design your own map here are the instruction, http://indusmaker.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/3d-printed-jigsaw-puzzle.html
