My take on a wearable bracelet multitool accessory, inspired by the Leatherman Tread. I saw the braceletool (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:654937) and thought that I'd like something like that but slimmer, for the leatherman bits.

You can buy the bits on Amazon (they are compatible with standard hex bit drivers)

I used 2-56 screws to hold the links together, you can use a nut on the other side, I used these brass threaded heat inserts from McMaster-Carr:

You can also use just a few of the links and use it as a keychain if you want.

I've also included a larger version that is meant for full size hex bits (not tested, print at your own risk)

For the Leather man bits(slim) what are the diameter of the parts that link together(where the screws) are if I wanted just a regular bracelet or don't have screws

A few things;

  • Absolute 100% respect for making this, you've saved us all hundreds of dollars.
  • for anyone like myself who had trouble finding the screws mentioned in the description, at 100% scale it's possible to thread M3x16mm screws into the holes for a clean look.
  • My printer had trouble bridging the gap across the center, standing the bit vertically and printing with supports resolved that nicely.
  • suggestion to the OP, take a layer off the center link part, every time I printed a link out, they barely squeeze together.
  • Using the heat from my print bed, I make them a little pliable, and squeeze the center slightly to add some holding resistance to the bit.
  • See first bullet point.

does this hold normal drill bits? Or just the leather man ones?

There's a version that is for the normal bits in the files section. Note that I haven't tested it and you may need to edit it to get the proper fit.

I printed a few links to try the fit and found it was a bit to small for the hex bits I have. Do you mind if I remix this with a proper fit for drill bits?

You should of made it to hold 16 drill bits, then named it "The 16 Bit Bracelet"

Great design.. was wondering if you wanna work together on creating a shop within our platform which will sell to Asian countries: www.tridii.com

I'm going to print the full hex version as a companion for my Storage Handle Screwdriver which is always in my pocket! I anticipate the fat version won't rotate as freely; may have to remix.

Storage handle screwdriver for magnetic chuck.

Cool idea ! you could print alot and wear them like a bullet chain.
