Home Depot sells

Everbilt 3-1/2 in. x 15 in. Stainless Steel Push Plate

for around $10, and it has thickness of 0.04" which is about 1mm, just the right thickness for terminal blade used in power tool batteries.

stainless is obviously stiffer than copper, and will not tarnish or abrade as easily.

the question is, how good is the conductivity and can it be soldered easily?

Thanks for this! Fit is pretty good except the 36x12mm window where the latch latches. I think it could be 11mm tall instead of 12 for a tighter fit. At least on my particular battery. But easy change in openscad, so no worries!

Thanks for the feedback! Glad it's been useful to someone.

I just uploaded a thing based on your Makita adapter. It's a thing with a USB port to charge mobile devices. Clips right onto the Makita batteries. Check it out: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:91214http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...
